Wheeler and Woolsey play a pair of city boys who take a taxi to Custerville, Arizona, and get mixed up in a variety of adventures. Wheeler, in a fixed election, becomes the sheriff and finds himself up against Stanley Fields, who has this problem with doing in sheriffs. Adding to the madcap antics is Quillan's decision to turn his dad's ranch into a local hot spot, complete with dancing girls and gambling. Based on a Gershwin musical, GIRL CRAZY was later remade with Mickey Rooney and Judy Garland, and again as WHEN THE BOYS MEET THE GIRLS (1967). The wonderful tunes include, "Could You Use Me?," "But Not for Me," "Embraceable You," "Sam and Delilah," "I Got Rhythm," "Bidin' My Time," "You've Got What Gets Me," by the Gershwins.
On a double bill with Peach-o-Reno (1931).
